It's never too early for training!

At Fit N Furry in Petaluma, CA we recognize that the first few months of your puppy’s life are the most important for acclimating them to different situations, dogs, and people as well as providing the structure and learning environment pups need.

Puppy training evaluations can begin as early as 10 weeks old but we welcome them in for services starting at 12 weeks. A lot of maturing happens in those 2 weeks. This ensures they have started their vaccine series and are ready for fun and learning!

By starting training early, we can help eliminate the possibility of future behavior problems. We will help you create a safe home environment and a solid foundation of skills.

We can help you:

  • Begin socialization with dogs and people
  • Introduce walking calmly on leash
  • Potty training/housebreaking
  • Discourage jumping
  • Chewing & nipping do’s & don’ts
  • Sit and down

Puppy Socialization - FREE!!

Looking for a great way to jump start your new puppy’s socialization skills and help them burn off some energy at the same time? Fit ‘N’ Furry Pet Resort offers FREE Puppy Socialization classes. Puppy Socialization is normally every Saturday 11-noon, but please call to check availability. Puppy Socialization is held in a safe and sanitized environment with a trainer on hand to observe, answer questions, and give expert advice on everything puppy! We're here in Petaluma and convenient to Marin and Sonoma counties.

Requirements

  • Puppies 12-18 weeks old are welcome - Training evaluations can begin at 10 weeks old
  • Proof of age-appropriate vaccinations, including Bordetella

Does your pup want to participate in this fun play time? If so, please call for a reservation as space is limited. If you are a new client, please arrive a few minutes before the start of class in order for us to verify your vaccination records and have you sign in. No more than two people should accompany each puppy.

There are no words to explain how grateful we are to Fit n Furry. Our 4 month old, 50 lb puppy, Domino, was more than we could handle. We were at our wits end. After attending a training evaluation, we signed up our puppy for the 10 day camp. While hopeful for improvement, we were absolutely astonished with the outcome. Domino was calm, no longer anxious and had an understanding of what was expected of him. And WE were also trained on how to be good leaders for him. He now has a routine (that doesn’t include destroying furniture or fingers). He sits, waits at the door, walks at a heel and goes to his “place” easily. Our home is peaceful and fun again with our big guy and we enjoy him so much now. Such a silly guy. Jenn, Sky and the entire training team and staff are amazing. We will never be able to thank them enough. Also, Domino loves the doggie daycare and we will definitely be bringing him back for more play days.
